2012 Six Frame Nucleus Colonies - late April into July

Nectar Meadows Apiaries is proud to offer six frame nucleus colonies spring through summer by reservation when available. In early spring I make nucleus colonies with mated queens from suppliers that I have found to provide consistent quality. Once the weather is warm enough I make nucleus colonies with queens reared from my best colonies that proved to be hardy enough to survive our local harsh winter. I expect to start providing over-wintered nucleus colonies for sale with proven over-wintered queens, spring of 2013, for now I am keeping them for my breeding program. As always, I will constantly bring new genetics into my breeding operation to broaden the available genetic pool I have to work with. For Example I acquired a dozen Cordovan Sunkist queens from Dr. Russell of Russell Apiaries this 2011 season which appear to have some great genetics to offer.
