Naturally Reared and Mated Queens
Mated Northern Italian Queens - 2012
$20.00 plus shipping - By reservation only – Check for availability
I do not anticipate have mated queens for sale until late May or Early June of the 2012 season. Look for an update on the availability of queens in late April.
I will offer a limited number of open mated queens for sale May through August of 2012.
All queens will be evaluated for at lease 21 days after they start laying eggs. Only queens laying a satisfactory brood pattern will be sold.
All queens for sale will be direct descendents from queens that wintered in our apiaries, produced large colonies, produced a surplus honey crop, lay great brood patterns, and are easy to work with little smoke. It is my goal to develop a hardy stock of honeybee adapted to North Americas harsh winters. I have been building my stock with strains breed for Hygienic and VSH behavior. I have been able to reduce mite treatments to once per year in fall with great results.
I am not a large scale queen breeder nor do I carry a degree in entomology nor will I pretend to. What I am is a dedicated beekeeper who truly cares for my bees and the future of beekeeping. I educate myself daily by reading everything I can get my hands on that may tell me something new. I take advantage of every moment I get with those who have more experience and observe all and learn from every moment I get in my apiaries. I have purchased and tested queens from all over the country spring through fall. What I have learned is that not only can I raise queens of equal quality but of much better quality myself. There is no secret to raising the highest quality queens. To learn how I raise my queens, and more please continue to the next page.
